Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, in a high-level meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday, instructed the officials that special care should be taken for the comforts and amenities of all the devotees visiting Chardham and Hemkunt Sahib Yatra.
The Chief Minister said that the devotees and tourists coming from across the state are heartily welcomed in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He said that Uttarakhand is an invaluable heritage of faith, culture and nature. He appealed to all the devotees and tourists to fully enjoy their journey in the peaceful environment of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and not pay attention to any kind of rumour.
The Chief Minister said that the state government, administration and police are taking necessary action keeping in mind all the aspects regarding the incidents that unfolded in Karnaprayag and Nagarasu. Action has been taken against whoever has been found guilty in the investigation and strict action will be taken further based on all the facts.
The Chief Minister said that along with Chardham Yatra, Hemkunt Sahib Yatra is also being conducted smoothly in the state. So far, more than 40 lakh devotees have visited the Chardham Yatra. At the same time, in the initial days of Hemkunt Sahib Yatra, the number of devotees has been recorded 25 thousand more than last year.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has three major holy places established by Sikh Gurus – Hemkunt Sahib, Reetha Sahib and Nanakmatta Sahib – where a large number of devotees come every year for darshan. He said that respecting everyone is an integral part of the culture and tradition of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. In accordance with the spirit of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, all the people coming here are welcomed and treated.
The Chief Minister appealed to those spreading misleading information on social media not to try to divide the society and communities. He said that people of all religions have together made important contributions in taking the country forward. He clarified that legal action will be taken against those spreading misleading and inflammatory news.
The Chief Minister said that all our religious places are centers of faith, reverence and inspiration, from where the society receives positive guidance. He said that the state government has a clear stand that no such act will be accepted in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, which hurts the dignity of any person or harms any religion and faith. He said that solution to all problems is possible only through dialogue, harmony and cordial environment.
