Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami gave appointment letters to a total of 307 newly appointed candidates in the appointment letter distribution program organized at the Chief Minister Camp Office on Thursday. In which appointment letters were provided to 243 medical officers, 42 pharmacists, 22 laboratory assistants and mushroom supervisors under the Horticulture Department. On this occasion, the Chief Minister, while congratulating all the selected candidates, said that this appointment letter is not just a document of employment, but a letter of commitment to serve the 1.25 crore people of the state.
The Chief Minister said that the role of health workers is very important in a geographically challenging state like Uttarakhand. In remote and mountainous areas, in times of crisis, the first hope of the public is the health care workers. He asked the newly appointed medical officers and health workers to discharge their responsibilities with sensitivity, dedication and spirit of service.
The Chief Minister said that the state government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is continuously working to strengthen health services in the state. Lakhs of families are getting the benefit of treatment through Ayushman Yojana. So far, more than 62 lakh Ayushman cards have been distributed in the state and cashless treatment worth more than Rs 2200 crore has been provided to about 12 lakh patients. The Chief Minister said that to expand health facilities in the state, medical colleges are being constructed and operated at a rapid pace. At present 5 medical colleges are operating in the state, while 2 are under construction. Along with this, 9 nursing colleges and 3 nursing schools are being run. Super specialty facilities are being expanded in Dehradun, Haldwani and Srinagar Medical Colleges and construction of a modern Cancer Institute is in progress in Haldwani. Telemedicine and heli ambulance services are also being operated to provide better health services in remote areas.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to giving a new direction to agriculture and horticulture. Effective efforts are being made to increase the income of farmers by promoting high value crops like Kiwi, Dragon Fruit, High Density Apple, Mushroom production and beekeeping. He expressed hope that the newly appointed youth will play an important role in giving the state a new identity in the field of agricultural innovation and modern horticulture. The Chief Minister said that all the recruitment processes in the state are being done with complete transparency. The country’s strictest anti-copying law has been implemented in the state. The result is that in the last four and a half years, more than 32 thousand youth have got government jobs.
Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Horticulture Department is successfully running various schemes like intensive apple gardening, Kiwi Mission, Dragon Fruit Mission, beekeeping policy and JICA project. He said that there is immense potential for mushroom production in Uttarakhand. He said that mushroom production can emerge as an additional source of income for the farmers, which will strengthen the economic condition of the farmers and bring qualitative improvement in their social and economic status.
Health Minister Shri Subodh Uniyal said that the appointment of new doctors and pharmacists will help in improving health services in the state. He said that it is the effort of the state government to ensure that there is adequate availability of doctors in the inaccessible areas of the state and that people can get the full benefit of health services in their nearest area. He expressed hope that all the doctors will remain dedicated to public service with full devotion.
