Therefore, the importance of contribution made by corporate groups in the form of CSR in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand also increases. He said that God gives the opportunity to be born in Devbhoomi, but everyone can contribute to Devbhoomi by doing work. Therefore everyone should take advantage of it. He said that many groups are doing excellent work under CSR. He also appealed to other groups established in Uttarakhand to spend their CSR in Uttarakhand only.
Chief Minister Dhami said that this program is not a formal meeting but a common resolution to bring positive change in the life of the person standing at the end of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He said that in this event, MoUs have been signed with various reputed companies in important areas like skill development, road safety, women empowerment, rural development and education. Uttarakhand’s development related challenges are different
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand has its own special circumstances, Uttarakhand is a mountainous and frontier state. The ecology here is extremely sensitive, hence the development challenges of this state are also different from other states. More resources and effort have to be spent here. Therefore, “holistic development” for us does not just mean constructing roads, buildings and infrastructure but establishing coordination between employment generation, social development and environmental protection. Therefore, the state needs development that respects the sensitivity of the mountains, protects the forests and rivers, and provides employment opportunities to the youth within the state. The Chief Minister said that corporate experience, institutional capacity, modern management style and commitment towards social welfare can play an important role in achieving this objective.
Government dedicated to industrial development
The Chief Minister said that the state government is making continuous efforts to take Uttarakhand to new heights in the field of industrial development. In this sequence, ‘Global Investors Summit’ was organized in the year 2023, in which the state received investment proposals worth more than Rs 3.56 lakh crore. Out of this, till now success has been achieved in implementing investment proposals worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore. The Chief Minister said that while simplifying the licensing process, the state government has implemented a single window system to facilitate business. At the same time, by bringing more than 30 policies including Industrial Policy, Logistics Policy, Startup Policy and MSME Policy, we have worked to provide an excellent and safe environment to the industries. Along with this, arrangements have also been made to establish incubation centers and venture fund of Rs 200 crore to promote startups in the state. He said that due to these efforts of the state government, Uttarakhand has achieved first place in the country in the Sustainable Development Goals Index of NITI Aayog. Along with this, Uttarakhand has received the category of ‘Achievers’ in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Leaders’ in Startup Ranking.
Industries benefited from transparent policies
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that a good industrial environment cannot be created in any state unless there is transparency in governance. That is why, for the first time in the history of the state, the state government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance against corruption and has taken strict action against more than 200 corrupt officers and employees in the past years. Entrepreneurs are directly benefiting from the transparency of the state government. They no longer face any unnecessary hurdles or corruption in approval of schemes, land allotment, industrial licenses or other business activities.
