Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, while addressing the youth of the state in the “Youth Dialogue Program” organized in Roorkee, said that the youth of Uttarakhand is the basis of the bright future of the state and the nation. He said that today India is the youngest country in the world and the energy, innovation and talent of the youth is the biggest force for building a developed India.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, many historic initiatives have been taken to promote the youth’s education, skills, innovation and self-employment, considering them not as vote banks but as the most powerful pillar of developed India. He said that initiatives like Startup India, Standup India, Digital India, Skill India, Khelo India and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana are playing an important role in making the youth self-reliant and employment creators.
The Chief Minister said that the aim of the state government is to create such an Uttarakhand, where the youth do not have to migrate for opportunities, but they have ample opportunities for employment, enterprise and innovation in their own state. He said that efforts like Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme, Youth Promotion Scheme, Deendayal Upadhyay Scheme, One District-Two Product Scheme and ‘House of Himalayas’ are giving national and global recognition to local products and youth. Initiatives like State Millet Mission, Apple Mission, Kiwi Mission, New Tourism Policy, Home-Stay, Wed in Uttarakhand and Solar Self-Employment are also creating new employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister said that as a result of the effective policies of the State Government, the unemployment rate of Uttarakhand has been reduced by 4.4 percent, which is better than the national average. Also, Uttarakhand ranks first in the country in the sustainable development of NITI Aayog. He said that now a positive environment of reverse migration is being created in the state and the youth are returning to Uttarakhand with their experience and skills and promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is working with full commitment to protect the interests of the youth. He said that due to the country’s strictest anti-cheating law implemented in Uttarakhand, transparency has been ensured in competitive examinations and in the last four and a half years, more than 33 thousand youth have got appointment in government services through a fair and transparent process.
He said that work is being done rapidly towards the establishment of 20 model colleges in the state, construction of women’s hostel, modern IT lab, examination halls and strengthening of higher education infrastructure along with establishment of new colleges. In the last four and a half years, more than 20 thousand new industries have been established in the state, due to which new opportunities for employment and investment have developed.
Calling upon the youth to set big goals, embrace innovation and move forward with confidence, the Chief Minister said that the State Government stands with every youth at every step to realize their dreams. He expressed confidence that the youth of Uttarakhand will play an important role in making the state the leading and best state of the country through science, technology, research and innovation.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted directly with the youth in the ‘Yuva Shakti Samvad’ program and gave simple, clear and concise answers to their various questions. The first question in the program was asked by Bhunesh Goyal. He sought information regarding the government’s schemes regarding empowerment of youth, security and their participation in governance.
The Chief Minister said that Roorkee is the land of science, research and innovation. Welcoming all the talented youth present in the Youth Dialogue programme, he said that the state government is making continuous efforts to connect the youth with employment and self-employment. Startups are being provided incentives and financial assistance and various self-employment schemes are being run effectively. He said that the strict anti-copying law implemented by the state government has resulted in transparency in the recruitment processes and so far more than 33 thousand youth have been provided appointment in government services.
Riya Vandana asked questions regarding the government’s action plan on rumors and misleading information spreading through social media. The Chief Minister said that today social media has become a very effective medium of mass communication. Any information spreads to millions of people within a few moments. Earlier people had to depend mainly on newspapers and television for news, whereas today every person can convey his views directly to the society. He said that the Cyber Cell is actively working to effectively monitor the misuse of social media and strict legal action is being taken against those who spread rumors and try to disturb social harmony.
Sonalika asked a question regarding the preparations for the Kumbh Mela to be held in the year 2027. The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working to make the Kumbh Mela of the year 2027 divine, grand, safe and well organized. For this, extensive arrangements are being made for the safety of the devotees including crowd management, traffic arrangements, construction and expansion of various ghats. He said that during the Kumbh Mela, drone and Artificial Intelligence (AI) based surveillance system will also be ensured using modern technology.

Navneet Singh Bhullar, Joint Magistrate Deepak Ramchandra Seth, Additional District Magistrate Jitendra Kumar, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Shekhar Suyal, HRDA Secretary Pratyush Singh, Sub-District Magistrate Bhagwanpur Devendra Singh Negi and a large number of youth were present.
