Tejashwi Yadav Voter Yatra: In Bihar politics, something is happening these days, which is shocked by everyone. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s 1300 km long ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ ended even for 15 days that RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav himself has set out on ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’ alone. This development is raising many questions. Did Tejashwi get less benefit from Rahul’s visit? Has the Congress increased its political stature in Bihar? And the biggest question, is it part of RJD’s pressure politics, so that it can pressurize the Congress for seat sharing?
Tejashwi’s ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’
Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’ will start from Jehanabad on Tuesday, September 16 and will end in Vaishali on 20 September. During this time, Tejashwi will pass through 10 districts in 5 days, including Nalanda, the stronghold of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Begusarai, the stronghold of Union Minister Giriraj Singh. It is clear that Tejashwi wants to make his presence in the areas where the BJP and JDU have a strong support base through this visit. RJD state general secretary Ranvijay Sahu has sent a letter to all the party MPs, MLAs and leaders regarding Tejashwi’s visit, requesting him to join the yatra. This shows how serious the RJD is about this journey and is throwing full force to make it successful.
Why ‘travel alone’ was needed?
Political analysts believe that Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ has burnt a new life in Bihar Congress. Although Tejashwi was also with Rahul in that visit, but Congress leaders also attracted public attention. Due to this, the Congress is freshly elevated and it is now putting its conditions on seat sharing and the face of the Chief Minister. The Congress has started saying that it has its own support and political stature, not with the RJD. BJP leader Giriraj Singh also lashed out at this, saying, “Tejashwi Yadav wandered with Rahul Gandhi for 15 days … that’s why they are now leaving so that they can do branding.”
New form of ‘Lalu’s legacy’
This step of Tejashwi is not only political, but is also an attempt to carry forward the legacy of his father Lalu Prasad Yadav. Lalu Yadav also always interacted directly with the public through trips and rallies. Tejashwi is adopting the same strategy through his journey. They want to prove directly to the public and prove that the undisputed leader of the Grand Alliance is the same and is the first choice of the public as the Chief Minister’s face. RJD leader Sanjay Yadav said, “The yatra with Rahul Gandhi was the Voter Adhikar Yatra. Now the stunning is going on a yatra for ‘Rights of Bihar’.” He said that during his visit, Tejashwi will raise issues like farmers, youth, women, elders and employment and surround the government. The yatra will not only encourage RJD workers, but will also decide who is the ‘elder brother’ between RJD and Congress in the upcoming elections.
