Bihar Politics on Encounter: The rhetoric has once again intensified in Bihar politics. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary took a dig at Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav’s encounter in Bihar on the basis of caste. In a sarcastic manner, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that if the police conducts an encounter, then the caste of the criminals should also be asked.
Addressing a program organized at Bihar Police Headquarters in Patna, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that I will tell the policemen to first ask the caste and then open fire on the criminal. Don’t shoot just like that. This statement of Bihar Chief Minister is being considered as a direct response to the recent allegations of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. Taking aim at the opposition, Samrat Chaudhary said that the government is taking strict action against crime and criminals in Bihar. The police have been given complete freedom to maintain law and order.

The Chief Minister said that the aim of the Bihar government is to establish good governance and a policy of zero tolerance is being adopted against criminals. CM Samrat Chaudhary also said that clear instructions have been given to the police that strictest action should be taken against whoever challenges the law. Samrat Chaudhary termed Tejashwi Yadav’s allegations as ridiculous. He said that such statements are being made only for political gains.
Opposition raised questions on law and order
It is noteworthy that during a press conference recently, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had raised serious questions regarding the law and order of Bihar. He had alleged that crimes against women are increasing in Bihar and the government is failing to handle the situation. During this, he also claimed that encounters are being conducted on the basis of caste in Bihar. This statement of Tejashwi Yadav had created a political stir in the state.
Amidst this entire controversy, a reaction has also come from Bihar Police. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Sudhanshu Kumar clearly said that Bihar Police does not consider caste in any action. He said that neither the police nor the criminals have any caste. Action will be taken against the criminals who attack the police as per law.
