Bhiwadi ATM incident, Rajasthan: A very shocking case has come to light from Bhiwadi area late last Friday night. Some thieves broke the ATM booth of Punjab National Bank (PNB) located at Cheda Chowk in Chopanki police station area by cutting it with a gas cutter. In this incident, the thieves escaped with approximately Rs 27 lakh 66,000 kept in the ATM machine. As soon as information about this incident was received, the police and FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team reached the spot and started investigation.
According to the police, about 4 or 5 to five unidentified thieves are said to be involved in the incident. Late in the night, the thieves first broke the lock of the ATM booth and then cut the machine with a gas cutter and broke it. The thieves fled from there after withdrawing all the money kept in the ATM machine. The incident was done with such precision that the people around did not even have the slightest clue about it. When the local people reached the bank booth in the morning, the lock was broken and they immediately informed the police.
Questions raised on police patrolling, investigation of CCTV footage continues
After this incident, questions have started being raised on the police patrolling system in the area. Chopanki area is considered an industrial area and there is police patrolling here even late at night, but even after this, thieves cutting off ATMs and taking away lakhs of rupees is raising questions on the security system. Police have collected evidence from the spot and footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is being scrutinized.

Giving information about this incident, Chopanki police station officer said that special teams have been formed to search for unknown thieves. The FSL team has collected marks of cutting tools and other evidence from the spot. However, initial investigation has revealed that the thieves had complete technical knowledge of the ATM machine. Police said that soon this incident will be revealed and the accused will be taken into custody.
