Jharkhand News: Union Minister Annapurna Devi has given a big statement regarding SIR. He said that the way this process is going on in many parts of the country, it is very important. Demography is changing in many areas due to infiltrators, which is affecting the rights of the local people. Therefore SIR is very important for all states.
Emphasis on identification of people living illegally
Annapurna Devi said that the rights of local people are being affected due to the arrival of outsiders in many places from Santhal Pargana to Ranchi in Jharkhand. He alleged that the rights of local citizens are being ignored due to infiltrators and this is a matter of concern. According to him, it is necessary to identify such people through a process like SIR, so that the rights of the real citizens of the state can be protected.
He further said that the Election Commission has set some criteria for this process and action is being taken on the basis of those criteria only. He says that those who are living illegally should be taken out of the system so that the voter list remains clean and transparent.
SIR will be done in Jharkhand also
He also said that such action has already been taken in Assam and Bengal and in the coming time SIR will be done in Jharkhand also. He said this would ensure that only legitimate citizens become part of the voting process.
At the same time, during SIR in West Bengal, a large number of people had migrated to Jharkhand and other states. On this he said that soon the SIR process can be started in Jharkhand also, through which such people can be identified and they will be sent back as per the rules. He says that the Election Commission is working well, so no matter what happens, the infiltrators will have to go out of the country.
