Uttarakhand News: There has been a major breakthrough in making financial management and delivery of government services transparent and accountable in Uttarakhand. The Central Government has formally recommended the state’s ₹680 crore ambitious proposal for consideration by the World Bank. After this recommendation, the expectations of Devbhoomi getting this big financial assistance from the World Bank have increased significantly.

₹680 crore proposal for good governance

The Uttarakhand government had prepared a proposal to further strengthen the public financial management system of the state. The main objective of this initiative is to provide the benefits of government schemes and services to the general public in a transparent and quick manner.

This proposal of the state government has got the green signal from the Centre, which has now agreed to place it before the World Bank. This amount will take new heights to e-governance and financial discipline in the state.

‘Big acceptance of financial reforms’: CM Dhami expressed happiness

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep happiness on this important step. He called it a big acknowledgment of Uttarakhand’s efforts towards financial reforms and good governance.

Chief Minister Dhami said:

“Our state government is constantly striving to ensure that every rupee of the public is spent with transparency and full accountability. This potential assistance from the World Bank will make our financial systems digital, strong and result-oriented.”

He stressed that this project will bring revolutionary improvement in the quality of fiscal discipline and service delivery mechanism in the state.

Project Goal: Digital and Real Time Monitoring

This project will give a new direction to the e-governance and digital public finance management of Uttarakhand. Under this, special attention will be given to the following areas:

Financial Discipline: To impose strict financial discipline on expenditure and allocation in every department of the state.

Real Time Monitoring: Strengthening real-time monitoring and reporting systems on the progress of government expenditures and projects.

Accountability: To ensure greater transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.

This World Bank supported project is expected to improve the financial condition of Uttarakhand and bring qualitative improvement in the government services provided to the citizens.
