Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Diwali Mahotsav-2025 program organized by Uttaranchal Press Club in Dehradun on Sunday. During this, the Chief Minister also distributed prizes to the lucky draw winners. The Chief Minister said that the process of allotment of land of Uttaranchal Press Club is in progress. After completion of this work, construction work of a grand building for Uttaranchal Press Club will also be done. Appreciating the contribution of journalists, the Chief Minister praised the contribution of journalists. From the Uttarakhand state movement till today, many journalists of Uttarakhand have played an important role in the all-round development of the state through their writing.

While wishing Diwali in advance to all the journalists, Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the festival of Diwali infuses positive energy in the lives of all of us. He said that the life of journalists is also like the lamps of Diwali, who work day and night to show direction to the society. The Chief Minister has requested all the people to adopt indigenous products this Diwali. He said that to build a developed India and developed Uttarakhand, we will have to promote Swadeshi in our country.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is sensitive towards the problems of journalists. The government has taken several steps regarding safety of journalists, health insurance, emergency assistance and housing schemes. Many senior journalists are being honored under the Senior Journalist Award Scheme. Increase in the pension of journalists and like before, efforts have also been made to make proper arrangements for the journalists coming to Dehradun from different districts to stay in Dehradun through the Information Department. The Chief Minister said that under the Chief Minister Journalist Pension Scheme, the budget of Journalist Welfare Fund has been increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore. Keeping in mind the health of journalists, health camps are also being organized. The work of modernization of media centers and empowerment of press clubs has been started across the state.

The Chief Minister said that the dedication with which journalists work for truth and public interest is praiseworthy. Journalists and journalism keep democracy alive more than just by disseminating political and social issues. Disseminating various schemes of the government to the public or making the government aware of the problems of the common people, both these important responsibilities are fulfilled by the journalists. On this occasion, MLA Shri Khajan Das, Vice Chairman of Disaster Management Advisory Committee Shri Vinay Ruhela, responsible Shri Hemraj Bisht, Director General Information Shri Banshidhar Tiwari, Uttaranchal Press Club President Bhupendra Kandari, General Secretary Shri Surendra Dasila and other journalists were present.
