Uttarakhand ka mausam: These days, rain is raining as a disaster in the quiet litigants of Uttarakhand. Famous for beautiful mountains, this state is constantly struggling with natural disasters. Sometimes the boom of rivers, sometimes landslides and now cloudburst have disturbed the lives of people. While the continuous rains for the last few days have put life in trouble, the situation became even more frightening due to cloudburst in Nandanagar in Chamoli district. The sudden flood trembled the entire area and people started running towards safe places to save their lives.
Cloud burst in Chamoli, six houses destroyed
A cloudburst incident occurred in Nandanagar. The emphasis of water in Kuntari Lagfali ward was so fast that six houses were completely swept away. Five people are still reported missing in the accident, while two people were safely taken out. Teams of local administration, police and disaster management are engaged on the spot for relief and rescue operations. At the same time, the team of NDRF has also been sent from transit to Nandanagar.
Health department alert, medical teams on the spot
After this incident, the Health Department immediately took the front. On the instructions of the CMO, the medical team and three ambulances were sent to the spot so that the injured could be treated immediately. Apart from this, four-five houses have also been damaged due to heavy rains in Dhurma village of Nandanagar tehsil. There is no news of loss of life here, but the water level of Moksha river has reached above the danger mark.
Destruction due to heavy rains in the entire state
Prior to Nandanagar, torrential rains and cloudburst in several districts including the capital Dehradun caused heavy havoc. Rivers and drains shed roads, bridges and many buildings. So far 15 people have died and 16 people are said to be missing. About 900 people have been rescued from different parts of the state, while over 1,000 people have been evacuated to safe places.
Chief Minister Dhami gave instructions
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has clearly stated in the review meeting of disaster affected areas that the priority of the government is to complete relief and rehabilitation works rapidly. He informed that the repair of 85% of the electricity lines has been completed and the Narendranagar-Tehri route will be repaired soon.
Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman informed that more than 10 roads and bridges have been damaged in this disaster, out of which five bridges were completely swept away. The most damage has been in Sahasradhara, Premnagar, Mussoorie, Pauri, Pithoragarh and Nainital. Relief and rescue operations are going on amidst continuous rains, but the challenge is still very large.
