Uttarakhand News: While addressing a press conference at the state office of Bharatiya Janata Party on Balveer Road on Saturday, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Silver Festival celebrations are being organized across the state to commemorate the silver jubilee of the creation of Uttarakhand state. Various programs will be organized across the state from Igas festival on 1st November to 11th November 2025. On this occasion, he remembered former Prime Minister Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and paid tribute to him and said that it was during his tenure as Prime Minister that we got a new state. He said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that Uttarakhand is completing a remarkable journey of 25 years and setting new dimensions of development.
Tribute to former Prime Ministers and martyrs
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has put before the countrymen the resolve of a developed and self-reliant India by 2047. The year 2050 will be the golden jubilee year of the establishment of Uttarakhand state. The state government will move forward by creating a new roadmap for the coming 25 years. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also paid tribute to the soldiers who made sacrifices on the country’s borders and the martyrs of the state movement.
Prime Minister’s guidance and centerpiece of Silver Festival
The Chief Minister said that under the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the state, a special session of the Legislative Assembly is being organized in Dehradun on 03rd and 04th November, in which Her Excellency the President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will address the special session on 03rd November, which is a matter of pride for the state. In this special session, there will be discussions towards taking the state forward and the experiences of the last 25 years will be discussed. Guidance will be received from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the main function on State Foundation Day on 09 November. Culture, tourism, youth power, migrant Uttarakhandis and state agitators will be the focus of the Silver Festival.

Government achievements and legal reforms
The Chief Minister said that many notable works have been done by the state government in the past years. He said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country which has implemented Uniform Civil Code. Also, concrete steps have been taken in the direction of good governance by implementing land law, anti-conversion, anti-copying and anti-riot laws. State agitators have been given 10 percent reservation in government jobs and 30 percent reservation for women, while 33 percent reservation has been ensured for women in cooperative societies.
Youth and investment progress
The Chief Minister said that in the last four years, more than 26 thousand youth have been provided government jobs. MoUs worth Rs 3.56 lakh crore were signed in the Global Investor Summit and grounding of investment worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore has been done. The state budget has been presented for the first time with more than Rs 1 lakh crore. Referring to the progress made in the field of health, women empowerment and social security, he said that 58 lakh Ayushman cards have been distributed in the state, maternal mortality ratio has reduced significantly, more than 1 lakh 65 thousand women have become self-reliant through Lakhpati Didi Yojana and old age pension has been increased to Rs 1500.

The Chief Minister said the size of the state’s economy has grown 26 times and per capita income has increased 17 times. For the revival of religious and cultural tourism, work is in progress under the Kedarnath Reconstruction and Badrinath Dham Master Plan and Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission. Projects like Delhi-Dehradun elevated road and Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line will give a new direction to the development of the state. The Chief Minister said that the State Government is running initiatives like Vibrant Village Programme, Smart Industrial Township and Mukhyamantri Migration Prevention Scheme for prevention of migration and development of marginal areas.
