He was ahead of BJP candidate Subhash Pasi by more than 34 thousand votes after 28 rounds of counting (win is almost certain).
The special thing is that Subhash Pasi is a rebel of SP. He is the sitting MLA from Saidpur. According to media reports, when Subhash Pasi went to talk to Akhilesh Yadav regarding the ticket, he felt that his address could be cut. After that he left the Samajwadi Party and joined the BJP. BJP gave him ticket. At the same time, SP fielded Ankit Bharti against him. Subhash Pasi is counted among the expert players of politics.
Ankit Bharti Under-16 and Under-19 from Delhi, Uttarakhand Cricket have played. Ankit Bharti says that he is studying law (LLB) after doing BBA. Ankit’s father OP Bharti was a PSS officer in the Labor Department. He has taken retirement under Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS).
Cricket Ankit, who hit fours and sixes on the field, started his political innings as an independent candidate. He recently contested and won the district panchayat election from Karanda II. A few days later, he joined the Samajwadi Party. According to media reports, Ankit’s father OP Bharti has a very cordial relationship with SP chief Akhilesh Singh Yadav.
Talking about the political history of Saidpur seat, there has been a triangular struggle between BJP, SP and BSP here. Most of the times SP and BSP have benefited from this. The BJP last won this seat in 1996.
Then Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey of BJP won. After the delimitation of 2008, this seat was reserved for the Scheduled Castes. After that, Subhash Pasi won from here in 2012 and 2017. Then both the times he contested on SP ticket.
There are about 3.75 lakh voters in Saidpur assembly. In this, there are about 75 thousand of Dalit voters. The number of Yadav voters is 70000. At the same time, the number of Rajbhar 33000, Muslim 26000, Kushwaha 22000, Kshatriya 19000, Vaish 18000 and Brahmin voters is about 17000.
