Adani Electricity gears up to protect 31.5 lakh customers from possible disruptions of monsoon, strengthens disaster management system

Mumbai, June 24 (IANS). Adani Electricity has further strengthened disaster management preparedness to ensure the safety of its 31.5 lakh customers from possible power disruptions during the monsoon season. The company shared this information on Wednesday.

Adani Electricity has activated its Central Disaster Control Center (CDCC) to deal with any emergency during monsoon. According to Mumbai’s leading power distribution company, this center will operate 24 hours a day during the entire monsoon season and conduct all relief and response activities.

An Adani Electricity spokesperson said, “Our team is fully prepared to face the challenges related to monsoon. With the support of Quick Response Teams and Central Disaster Management Team, we are committed to ensure the safety of consumers and uninterrupted power supply.”

The company has strategically deployed seven Quick Response Teams (QRTs) across its distribution network. These teams have been equipped with special response, recovery and restoration plans to deal with the challenges arising during the monsoon.

To monitor the rising water level, the company has installed 98 advanced water level sensors at important locations, which are linked to the Advanced Distribution Management System.

This system will help in early identification of power problems related to floods or waterlogging and timely action.

The Central Disaster Control Center will use state-of-the-art satellite and wireless technologies. This includes facilities like walkie-talkies and remote devices, which will enable continuous communication between various departments and external agencies.

The company says that this will enable faster resolution in case of interruption in power supply and better management of incidents.

Adani Electricity has completed extensive pre-monsoon inspection and maintenance works before the onset of rains.

Electrical equipment located in low-lying areas has been installed at a height to protect it from waterlogging. Apart from this, facilities like essential materials, emergency vehicles and diesel generators have been deployed at strategic locations so that immediate action can be taken in case of any emergency.

Adani Electricity is also continuously running safety awareness programs in its service area. Through these programs, people are being informed about important measures related to electricity safety during monsoon.

The company said that consumers can contact the toll-free helpline 19122 round the clock for any assistance.

Apart from this, assistance can also be availed on WhatsApp number 9594519122.

Consumers can also contact 022-50549111 or 022-50547225 to report emergencies.

The company said consumers can also get real-time updates and support through its website, mobile app and social media platforms.
