Visakhapatnam, April 28 (IANS). AdaniConnex, the joint venture company of Adani Group and EdgeConnex, on Tuesday announced that it will build a gigawatt capacity AI-ready data center platform in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The project is backed by an investment of $10 billion from the Adani Group, which reflects the Group’s commitment to developing digital infrastructure in the country.
As a leading infrastructure partner, AdaniConnex is developing scalable, AI-ready data center infrastructure, supported by a robust and integrated energy ecosystem.
Leveraging Adani Group’s capabilities in energy infrastructure, the platform will ensure reliable, sustainable and long-term power availability to meet the demands of high-density AI and cloud workloads.
Apart from AI infrastructure, the project is expected to contribute to the development of Andhra Pradesh’s economic ecosystem, positioning the state as a key hub in the global digital landscape and supporting India’s broader digital and energy transformation.
The project is part of Adani Group’s broader commitment to invest $100 billion in building India’s AI, energy and digital infrastructure over the next decade.
Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the foundation stone laying ceremony of India AI Hub in Visakhapatnam reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a global leader in technology.
Google formally began construction of its largest AI-focused investment in the country, marking a significant step in its long-term commitment towards India’s digital and economic transformation.
This project, being developed in collaboration with AdaniConnex and others, is going to become the cornerstone of the country’s growing digital infrastructure.
