New Delhi, 13 September (IANS). According to information given by Adaani Power Limited (APL) on Saturday, APL has signed a 25 -year power supply agreement with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) to supply 2,400 MW (MW) power to the state.
Under this agreement, India’s largest private sector thermal power generator company will supply the proposed power from the Greenfield Ultra Super Critical Plant to be set up at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district of Bihar.
The progress has been given after the letter of award in August last month by APL from BSPGCL from BSPGCL North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL).
Adani Power achieved the project by offering a minimum supply rate of Rs 6.075 per kWh.
APL said, “The company is planning to invest about $ 3 billion on the construction of new plants (800 MW X 3) and its supporting infrastructure under the design, build, finance, on and operat (DBFOO) model.
Coal linkage has been allotted for this power plant under the power policy of the Government of India.
This project will create about 10,000 to 12,000 direct and indirect employment during the construction phase and 3,000 people will get employment when it starts.
APL aims to start this plant in 60 months.
Earlier, APL has received a letter of award (LoA) for a total of 1,600 MW capacity from MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) with adoption of Greenshu option in thermal power tender in India.
APL has received an LOA for additional capacity of 800 MW under Greenshu option from MPPMCL.
Both units of 800-800 MW located in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh will be operational within 60 months from the appointed date. The company will invest around Rs 21,000 crore to setup the plant and its supporting infrastructure. This project will also create new employment opportunities.
According to the company, this project is expected to provide direct and indirect employment to 9,000–10,000 people during the construction phase and 2,000 people will get employment after the completion of the construction phase.
