Before Diwali, Prime Minister Modi is giving many gifts to the people of Mumbai. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi launched One Ticket App in Mumbai. This will make travel much easier for Mumbaikars. With this, they will be able to travel in metro, local trains and buses with a single ticket. This app will work on Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) network. Upon its launch, public transport services in the country’s financial capital Mumbai will be available on a single platform.
Freedom from the hassle of buying separate tickets
Traveling by public transport in Mumbai is now going to be much easier. People will no longer need to buy separate tickets for different journeys. The app will provide a single platform to book tickets for metro, monorail, local train and bus services. This will eliminate the need for passengers to stand in queues at ticket counters or token machines.
Multiple features in one app
The app will connect passengers traveling in Mumbai to Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7, Mumbai Metro Line 3, Mumbai Metro Line 1, Mumbai Monorail, Navi Mumbai Metro, Mumbai Local Trains, BEST Bus Services, Thane Metropolitan Transport Corporation, Mira-Bhayandar Transport Corporation, Kalyan-Dombivli Transport Corporation and Navi Mumbai Metropolitan Transport Corporation. Currently, the metro train network in Mumbai extends for approximately 70 kilometers. Due to the presence of various operators, people in Mumbai faced a lot of difficulties in purchasing tickets. This app was developed to provide passengers access to all ticketing services on a single platform.
How to use the app
To use the app, Android phone users can download the OneTicket app from the Google Play Store, and iPhone users can download an app called OneTicketIndia from the Apple App Store. Sign up with your mobile number, select the source and destination stations, and then choose the number of tickets. Then, pay for your ticket using UPI, credit card or debit card. You will receive a QR code. You will be able to go inside by scanning this QR code at the metro gate. The app will provide real-time updates to passengers during their journey, including information on train delays and alternative routes. Its integrated SOS button will also ensure safety.
