New Delhi, 15 September (IANS). According to the information given by NITI Aayog on Monday, the Atal Innovation Mission has achieved a historic achievement and recorded its major initiative Mega Tinkering Day 2025 in the prestigious India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records. This is a new record of the maximum number of students participating in a tinkering activity in a single day.
The official confirmation and formal announcement of this record was made on Monday by both India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records. This recognition is a proof of AIM’s mission to promote innovation and scientific thinking among the youth of India.
According to the NITI Aayog, on August 12, 2025, 4,73,350 students from 9467 ATL equipped schools participated in this program organized in schools across the country. He participated in a practical project of design and construction of a DIY vacuum cleaner using everyday content available in his laboratories. This activity was done by a step-by-step intractional session.
On this occasion, Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission, Deepak Bagla said, “Mega Tinkering Day is not just a record, it is a movement. It represents the collective energy of our young innovators, which from far corners of the country to its busy cities, for learning, creation and cooperation. Any other country of the world has not given up in its school opinion. The record shows that when you provide the right tools, guidance, inspiration and leadership, children of India are able to give a new shape to the world of tomorrow. “
He further said that this initiative is in line with PM Modi’s development of developed India, where innovation and youth power is the basis of India’s development saga.
Bagla said, “India’s future is being built in our classrooms and through Atal Tinkering Labs, we are not only equipped with technical skills, but also providing the mindset of big dreams, thinking different thinking and solving the challenges of the real world.”
