There is no longer any need to stand in queues to get general or platform tickets at the railway station. Indian Railways has installed AVTM (Automatic Ticket Vending Machine) at all stations across the country. From these machines you can easily book General (Unreserved) and Platform tickets. It is very easy to book tickets from these machines, so that there is no need to stand in long queues.
There is a huge crowd at railway stations during festivals and special occasions, leading to long queues at UTS ticket counters. Because of this, passengers often miss trains. In such a situation, you can easily book your journey and platform tickets using the AVTM installed at the station. AVTM is very easy to use. How to use AVTM?
AVTM is used to book unreserved and platform tickets as well as renew season tickets. You can book tickets through AVTM in two ways. You can make the payment using the UPI app on your phone or a smart card issued by the Railways. First, visit the AVTM at the railway station and select your destination using the map.
Next, choose your travel route
Then, select the number of tickets you want to book and proceed to the payment option.
Here, apart from railway smart card or rail wallet, you will also get the option of UPI payment through QR code.
If you pay by smart card, insert your card into the smart card reader and receive your ticket after payment.
If you choose the UPI payment option via QR code, go to the UPI app on your phone, scan the QR code and receive your payment.
To use Rail Wallet, you need to go to the UTS app on your phone and make the payment using your registered mobile number and OTP. Then, get your ticket.
Indian Railways has installed a large number of AVTMs at all major stations so that railway passengers do not have to stand in long queues for unreserved, platform and season tickets and make their journey smoother.
