New Delhi, December 15 (IANS). India’s indigenous digital payments platform BHIM App (BHIM) on Monday launched the “Proudly Swadeshi” campaign. Under this, new users will get a cashback of Rs 20 on adopting digital payments.
A press release said that Bheem will celebrate its 10th anniversary later this month. On this occasion, this special offer is being given to new users. This offer is for those users who make transactions of Rs 20 or more.
The objective of this campaign is to connect new users with digital payments and increase their convenience. BHIM aims to ensure that there are no barriers for first-time users making digital payments, thereby strengthening the growing acceptance of digital payments in every part of the country.
NPCI Bhim Services Limited (NBSL), which developed Bhim, said that new users who use the Bhim app for their daily purchases like grocery, bus or metro tickets, prepaid recharge, electricity and gas bill payments and petrol expenses can avail cashback of up to Rs 300 a month on eligible transactions.
The new BHIM app, launched earlier this year, supports more than 15 Indian languages, offers an ad-free interface and is suitable for areas with low connectivity.
Besides, some new features have also been added to it, which include Split Expense, Family Mode, Spend Analytics, Action Needed and UPI Circle. Additionally, the UPI Circle Full Delegation feature has been launched, allowing users to allow their family members, children, employees or dependents to make UPI payments within a specified limit.
While creating BHIM, it was kept in mind that it should be designed keeping in mind the real needs of the citizens of the country.
According to a recent IMF report, UPI, with BHIM app as the world’s largest real-time digital payment system, currently commands 49 percent of digital payments. It has also left behind the systems of countries like Brazil, Thailand, China and South Korea.
