Big achievement of Indian Railways, testing of Vande Bharat sleeper train at speed of 180 km per hour successful.

New Delhi, December 31 (IANS). Indian Railways on Wednesday successfully completed the final high-speed trials of the indigenously developed Vande Bharat sleeper train. This is being considered a big step in taking India forward towards modern and self-reliant railway technology.

The test was conducted under the supervision of Commissioner of Railway Safety on the Kota-Nagda rail section, where the train achieved a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour.

According to the Railway Ministry, the train performed well on all safety and technical parameters and the test was declared a complete success.

The train’s stability, vibration, braking system, emergency brakes, and other essential safety features were thoroughly tested during high speed, which found that the train remained completely safe and balanced even at high speed.

Union Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting and Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav shared the video of this test on social media. In the video, the train was shown moving at a speed of 180 km per hour.

The video also showed a test of a glass filled with water, in which the water did not spill despite the high speed. This clearly showed the better suspension system and comfortable travel quality of the train.

The 16-coach Vande Bharat sleeper train has been designed for long distance travel. Many modern facilities have been provided in it keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the passengers.

This train includes comfortable sleeper berths, automatic doors, improved suspension, modern toilets, digital information system, and energy saving technology.

Apart from this, fire detection system, security monitoring system, and CCTV cameras have also been installed in the train.

In terms of safety, the train is equipped with Kavach (KAVACH) Automatic Train Protection System, crash prevention couplers, anti-climber and fire barrier doors.

The train also has regenerative braking to save energy, UV-V based air cleaning in ACs, centrally controlled automatic doors and wide sealed corridors.

In case of emergency, there is a facility for passengers to contact the train manager or loco pilot directly. Besides, special facilities have also been provided for disabled passengers in the train.

This successful trial of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is being considered a major achievement in the direction of fast, safe and comfortable travel in the Indian rail sector.
