Davos, January 20 (IANS). AM Green Group, a company working in the field of energy transformation, on Tuesday signed an important agreement (MoU) with Invest UP, the investment promotion department of the Uttar Pradesh government.
This agreement was signed during the World Economic Forum held in Davos in the presence of senior officials of the Uttar Pradesh government and top leadership of AM Green Group.
Under this agreement, a large AI data center with 1 gigawatt capacity will be built in Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of investment of about 25 billion dollars in this project.
AM Green Group said that this AI infrastructure hub will be developed in the Greater Noida region, which will be capable of handling Artificial Intelligence (AI) related work across the world.
According to the company, the project will be developed in a phased manner, with the first capacity being commissioned in 2028, while the entire 1 GW capacity is targeted to be built by 2030.
The company said that this project is a big step towards creating a sustainable and carbon-neutral digital economy. It will also strengthen the goal of making Uttar Pradesh a major data center hub of India.
AM Green Group said the project is in line with the Government of India’s ‘Develop India 2047’ vision, which aims to promote AI-based development and digital services. Once the project is completed, it will be one of the largest investments in the country.
This data center will meet the growing needs of high performance computing for the world’s big tech companies, AI research labs, large industries and India’s government AI plans.
About 5 lakh state-of-the-art high performance chipsets will be installed in this centre. The special thing is that this entire data center will be operated on carbon-free i.e. clean energy, so that the environment is not harmed.
AM Green Group said that its AI Labs are building a complete AI ecosystem spanning energy, infrastructure, hardware, AI models and applications. These services will be useful in many sectors like energy, health, manufacturing, automobile, media, gaming and government cloud services.
The project will also benefit Indian developers as they will get better access to modern chips, allowing them to rapidly develop AI solutions for India and abroad.
Anil Chalamalasetty, Chairman, AM Green Group, said expansion into the AI space is a natural part of the company’s technology-led approach and will help it deliver solutions across different industries.
AM Green President Mahesh Kolli said that by combining large computing capacity with 24-hour green power, this project will become a sustainable model for the future global AI infrastructure, which is fully supported by the Uttar Pradesh government.
