Reliance made many big announcements in its 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which included important initiatives related to technology. Like many recent events, this one too had a strong focus on AI. Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani said India should not remain just a consumer of AI developed elsewhere; Rather, it should become an AI maker and global leader. Key announcements include the launch of a new GenAI Studio by JioStar (the media and entertainment division of Reliance), as well as AI-powered call agents, satellite internet and AI capabilities tailored to Indian languages. Let’s take a closer look at the important technology announcements made during the meeting.

This infrastructure will be powered by Reliance’s own solar power, with an initial capacity of 120 MW and is planned to be operational by the end of this year. When fully operational, its capacity can be expanded to more than 200,000 H100-like GPUs.

**AI Studio for Content Production** – Reliance introduced JioStar GenAI Media Studio (JAMS) at the AGM. This AI-powered platform is built to handle the entire content production workflow – from idea generation to images, videos and final production. Announcing the initiative, Jio Chairman Akash Ambani said it aims to groom a new generation of content technologists who want to create premium content by combining the art of storytelling and AI.

**New Platform for AI Agent** – Reliance also introduced new Jio Teleframe. It is a voice-first, agentic AI system designed to serve as a central hub for home entertainment, shopping, and controlling AI agents that manage connected home devices. It can be used in every Indian language.

This will not require any app or a separate phone number and will work in all Indian languages. Once the user approves, it can join the call and transcribe it in real-time. During a conference call, it will be able to recognize the voices of up to 10 people and share meeting notes with others. Other features include booking cabs, ordering food, reserving tables and scheduling meetings over calls. This feature can be launched by the end of this year.

Trying to make AI easy for everyone – Akash Ambani said that Jio is making AI in Indian languages so that more and more people can use it. He said that Reliance is building AI for India – AI that will one day be useful to the entire world. Work is also going on to make AI cheaper by the end of this decade.

These are being brought with the aim of making AI useful for farmers, students, shopkeepers, families and small business owners.
