New Delhi, 14 September (IANS). The central government said on Sunday that the application process of Production Linked Scheme (PLI) brought for White Goods (AC and LED lights) has resumed.
Its purpose is to draw more investment in white goods.
It was informed by the Ministry of Commerce that the application window for this scheme will be open from September 15, 2025 to October 14, 2025. No application will be accepted after this date is released.
Also said that this decision was taken under this scheme due to increasing market and building confidence due to manufacturing of major components of AC and LED lights in India.
The government said that so far 83 applicants with investment commitment of Rs 10,406 crore have been selected as beneficiaries under the PLI scheme. The scheme will be implemented from FY 2021-22 to FY 2028-29 and its outlay is Rs 6,238 crore.
The ministry said in a statement, “To avoid any discrimination, new applicants as well as existing beneficiaries of PLI White Goods, who propose to invest more by switching to the high target section or their group companies apply under separate target segment, they have to meet the eligibility conditions mentioned in para 5.6 of the plan guidelines and submit the scheme of schemes and admitting in the Planning Directorates to fulfill the scheme of scheme guidelines and admitting in the scheme. Will be eligible to apply. “
Applicants will only be eligible for encouragement for the remaining period of the plan. The approved applicant in the proposed fourth round will be eligible for PLI for a maximum of two years.
The beneficiaries who have opted for GP-1 (till March 2022) willing to enter the higher investment category in the proposed fourth round will be PLI eligible for only one year.
According to the ministry, “The current beneficiaries who choose the above option, if they are unable to achieve investment or sales limit in a given year, will be eligible to submit claims according to their original investment plan. However, this flexibility will be provided only once during the plan period.”
This investment will create components of AC and LED lights throughout the price chain, including components that are currently not enough in India.
