Popular AI platform ChatGPT is currently closed to users around the world, causing thousands of people to struggle to use it. Users are reporting this outage on the tracking site DownDetector, although its actual reason is not yet clear. More than 800 users on DownDetector have reported service outages. The problem started around 2:30 pm and continues at the time of writing this report.
**The problem increased in the afternoon**
Users began reporting issues with ChatGPT on DownDetector around 2:30 p.m. The number of complaints is continuously increasing and currently more than 850 users are reporting outage. However, this is not the first time ChatGPT has experienced an outage; This service has been stopped many times before.
This time, the problem persists for much longer – about 40 minutes – and makes it difficult to use. Due to the outage, users are unable to interact with the chatbot or create images using the service.
People are also expressing their complaints on social media platforms. Many users on X (formerly Twitter) are making memes about the outage. One user asked, “I’m seeing a 500 error code. Is it down?”
At the same time, other users are also making fun of this situation with funny comments.
There has been no official statement from ChatGPT regarding this problem yet, but it is expected that users will be able to use the platform again soon.
