Mumbai, April 27 (IANS). Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday launched ‘Mahachatur Artificial Intelligence Chatbot’, which aims to streamline the process from education to employment and provide an integrated platform for skill development, employment opportunities and entrepreneurship guidance.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted India’s ‘demographic advantage’ and pointed out that 65 per cent of the population is below 35 years of age. He said that industries are looking for skilled human resources and youth are looking for employment, and ‘Mahachatur Chatbot’ will act as an important link between the two.
He further said that the artificial intelligence (AI) based assistant, available through WhatsApp, provides a ‘one-stop solution’ for skill training related information and application processes, notifications of employment opportunities, entrepreneurship guidance, market connectivity, assessment and grievance redressal.
According to Fadnavis, a key feature of this platform is its impact on the apprenticeship registration process. Under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme and Maharashtra Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, registration which earlier took two to three days can now be completed in just 15 minutes.
He said the system, developed in collaboration with ‘Rightwalk Foundation’, operates on secure government servers using open-source Artificial Intelligence to ensure maximum data privacy for users in both rural and urban areas.
Skill and Entrepreneurship Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha stressed the resolve of the department to organize the unorganized skill sector.
He said that although Artificial Intelligence may impact some traditional jobs, it opens a vast door of new opportunities, and efforts are on to connect the youth of Maharashtra to the global labor market.
