New Delhi, February 3 (IANS). Adani Defense and Aerospace Director Jeet Adani on Tuesday said the defense sector will emerge as a large and strategically important segment for the Adani Group as the company strengthens its presence in aerospace, manufacturing and indigenization.
Speaking to reporters in the capital, Jeet Adani said the group is not looking at its operations in separate segments like aerospace or MRO, but is looking at defense as an entire sector.
However, he declined to comment on future plans, but said that defense will be an important part of the group’s future growth and is very important for both the company and the country.
Jeet Adani told reporters, “We do not work on segment basis just in aerospace and MRO. We are looking at defense holistically and I do not want to make such statements about the future as to what we expect from it.”
He further said that the recent announcements show the group’s strong confidence in being part of India’s growth journey.
Earlier, Adani Defense and Aerospace Director Jeet Adani said on Tuesday that in collaboration with Italian giant Leonardo Helicopters, they will create an ecosystem on Indian soil in which manufacturing, assembly, training and world class support will be available at one place.
Announcing the partnership with Leonardo, Jeet Adani said, I am confident that the country’s helicopter capabilities will become stronger and more stable from here and will remain strong for generations.
He further added, “India’s cities are growing, our aspirations are rising and the need for such capabilities is increasing day by day. Now is the time for our people to experience these services with the assurance that they are being built by an ecosystem made in India, built for India.”
