New Delhi, June 29 (IANS). Government e-commerce marketplace ‘DigiHaat’ on ‘Open Network for Digital Commerce’ (ONDC) on Monday launched ‘Sahakar Se Samridhi’ campaign across the country. Its objective is to promote cooperative products through digital commerce and increase their reach to customers.
This week-long campaign, which will run from June 29 to July 6, is being organized on the occasion of completion of five years of the Ministry of Cooperation. It aims to showcase the products of cooperative societies, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), self-help groups (SHGs), artisan groups and producer-led enterprises from across the country.
Under this initiative, ‘DigiHaat’ has launched an exclusive ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi Store’. The store brings together products from cooperatives, farmer groups and community enterprises on a single digital platform where customers across the country can purchase them.
The objective of this campaign is to improve access to digital markets for India’s cooperative ecosystem. This ecosystem includes more than 8.5 lakh registered cooperative societies, whose approximately 29 crore members work in sectors like farming, dairy, fisheries, handloom, rural industries and financial services.
According to DigiHaat, although the cooperative movement has grown significantly in recent years, many producers still face challenges in accessing mainstream e-commerce platforms and markets across the country.
The company said that through the ONDC-powered platform, cooperatives, FPOs and SHGs will be able to reach more customers and also increase their presence and participation in the digital economy.
Shubho Sengupta, Marketing Head, DigiHaat, said, “India’s cooperative movement is one of the largest people-led economic ecosystems in the world. As we celebrate five years of the Ministry of Co-operation, we believe the next phase of growth should include better access to digital markets for cooperatives, farmer groups and community enterprises.”
He further added, “Through the ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’ campaign, DigiHaat is trying to bridge this gap by connecting producers directly with consumers at a national level.
As part of the campaign, Bharat Organics has come on board as a key brand partner and will manage a dedicated storefront with promotional offers, handpicked product collections and customer engagement programmes. The campaign will also include storytelling and awareness-raising programs that will highlight the contribution of India’s cooperative sector.
Additionally, the products showcased during the campaign will include categories like grocery, organic food, handicrafts, handloom, personal care products and home essentials.
