The government authority, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a new app named Aadhaar App. It includes some new features and is different from the mAadhaar app.
Special features for privacy
Aadhaar app also lets you hide your Aadhaar card privacy number and date of birth. The facility to authenticate the Aadhar card of another person has also been provided.
Special options available in the new Aadhaar app
On opening the Aadhaar app available on Android and iOS app stores, you will find two options at the bottom, one of which is Scan QR. With this option you can scan the Quick Response Code (QR Code) printed on another person’s Aadhar Card. On scanning the QR code, their original Aadhar card information will be revealed. By using the QR code on your mobile device, the original Aadhaar card information will be revealed.

The Aadhaar app has many features that help you keep your Aadhaar card safe. It lets you selectively hide information before sharing. Using the new Aadhaar app, Aadhaar holders can also lock and unlock their biometrics and view their biometric history.
