New Delhi, Oct 18 (IANS) The Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) on Saturday launched the Global Tender Service (GTS) in a transformative step aimed at expanding the global presence of Indian exporters, especially MSMEs.
Developed and managed by FIEO, GTS is now available on the Indian Trade Portal, India’s one-stop platform for trade information and facilitation.
Dr. Ajay Sahay, Director General and CEO, FIEO, said, “The launch of GTS on Dhanteras is a symbol of new beginnings and prosperity. It is not just a platform but a gateway to the world for Indian exporters.”
He further added, “By facilitating access to global tenders, the GTS enables our businesses to compete internationally with confidence and accuracy. It is an important step in reshaping India’s export strategy for the digital, data-driven era.”
It is a subscription based, real-time tender aggregation platform that provides Indian businesses access to over 15,000 live international tenders every day, received from over 8,000 verified channels in over 150 countries.
“From major development banks to government agencies, PPP bodies, multilateral institutions and global corporations, the GTS connects Indian exporters directly to procurement opportunities that were previously scattered, obscure or difficult to access,” FIEO said in a statement.
GTS avails opportunities from reputed institutions like World Bank, ADB, UNICEF, USAID and various national and sub-national procurement bodies globally.
According to Fio, with smart filters, sector and sector-specific dashboards and AI-powered search capabilities, GTS enables users to track, shortlist and act on global tender opportunities quickly and accurately.
The launch of the GTS assumes special significance as India is deepening its participation in international trade negotiations, particularly under the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
India has opened up its government procurement sector for the first time under a bilateral trade agreement, which is a major policy change and also gives Indian businesses reciprocal access to UK government procurement opportunities.
As India moves forward with similar provisions with other trading partners, Indian exporters will need stronger, real-time visibility into foreign procurement systems. GTS enables them to take advantage of emerging government tenders globally, understand the complex bidding ecosystem and keep pace with evolving business commitments.
