Selling iPhone without charger has cost Apple dearly. For doing so, now the company will have to pay compensation. The case is of Brazil. According to the report of Tecmundo and Macrumors, a Brazilian judge has ordered the company to pay around $ 1,075 (about Rs 82 thousand) to a user as compensation for selling an iPhone without a charger. According to Brazilian law, not giving a charger in the retail box of the phone is a violation of consumer laws.
In the year 2020, the charger was stopped
In the year 2020, Apple stopped providing chargers in the retail box of the iPhone. According to the company, the decision to not provide a charger with the phone was taken keeping in mind the environment. However, many believe that Apple did this to save on shipment costs. Larger boxes have a much lower shipment charge than smaller retail boxes. Along with this, not giving a charger would have helped the company a lot in reducing the cost.

Strong condemnation of Apple
This decision of Apple was strongly condemned and many governments also took strong steps so that Apple resumes providing chargers with its iPhones. Amidst all this, a Brazilian judge, while ruling in favor of the user, has ordered Apple to pay US $ 1075 to the user as compensation.
$2 million fine last year
In the year 2021 also, Brazil fined Apple 2 million US dollars for violating consumer law. The issue of not providing a charger with the iPhone has been going on for a long time and now it is believed that Apple will start offering chargers with the iPhones in Brazil. The company, while giving its stand about this, said that many users already have a charger at home and hence there is no point in giving a new charger with the phone.
