New Delhi, July 25 (IANS). Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that the government has given priority to transparency, accountability and welfare of employees. Due to this, many old complaints related to service, which were pending for the last 25 to 30 years, have been resolved.
The minister, while meeting a 12-member delegation of the Indian Postal Employees Union, affiliated to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, said the government is committed to maintaining constant engagement with employee organizations through regular dialogue and constructive discussions.
The statement said that the delegation raised many important issues. These included demands related to service related matters, employee welfare, recognition related problems and early resolution of long pending administrative and legal matters.
“Timely resolution of people’s grievances is our priority due to sensitive administration, timely decisions and continuous administrative reforms,” Jitendra Singh told the delegation.
He said this ensured that long pending cases of government employees were resolved fairly, as per rules and within the stipulated time.
The delegation raised many issues related to postal employees. These included service related problems, welfare of employees, recognition related issues and demand for early resolution of long pending administrative and legal matters.
Those issues were also discussed in the meeting, for the solution of which better coordination is needed between different departments. The delegation also demanded continuous cooperation from the government to quickly resolve the legitimate problems of the employees as per the law and rules.
He said that in cases where the demands of the employees are justified, they are investigated as per the rules and prescribed procedure. At the same time, in cases where multiple ministries and departments are involved, a transparent and permanent solution is reached as per the law only after consultation with all parties.
He asked the employee representatives to continuously send their suggestions and feedback in writing to the government to improve the administration and government services.
