Why was there a delay?
The company had already indicated that the game would take more time to complete. In November 2025, it was clarified that the delay was not due to any production issues, but due to the need to further refine and improve the game. The developers say they want to ensure that this title launches with the quality that players have come to expect. An interesting point is that the launch of GTA 6 is scheduled for Thursday – November 19 – while main game titles usually release on Tuesdays. It is not yet clear whether this decision is a strategy or not.
New settings and a great story
This time, the game world promises to be bigger and more dynamic than ever before. The story will take place in a fictional place named Leonida, which is loosely inspired by the real-life state of Florida. Its centerpiece will be Vice City, which is now being rebuilt in a modern style – a far cry from its classic 1980s look.
The biggest change is the introduction of the dual-protagonist system. For the first time in the series, players will be able to experience the story from the perspective of both a male and a female character at the same time.
