Navsari, June 24 (IANS). The fertilizer sales application system mobile app is proving effective for the farmers of Navsari, Gujarat. All the problems of pre-booking fertilizer are being removed through this app.
Navsari farmer Ashokbhai Gandhi no longer has to wander for fertilizer or stand in long queues at fertilizer vendors.
In fact, they pre-book the fertilizer as per their need through the Fertilizer Sale Application System mobile app of the Government of India and then purchase the fertilizer for farming from wherever fertilizer is available in the surrounding area. According to Ashokbhai Gandhi, this mobile app is very useful for the farmers. This has removed all the problems faced in purchasing fertilizers.
Farmer Ashokbhai Gandhi, while talking to IANS, said that the app is very useful for farmers. This will make farming easier.
Deputy Agriculture Director PR Kathiriya said that the benefit of this will be that the farmer will know sitting at home which nearby shop has fertilizer available. They will not have to push from one place to another and will not have to stand in queues for fertilizer unnecessarily.
In fact, to ensure easy, transparent and timely availability of subsidized fertilizers to the farmers, the Fertilizer Cell Application System mobile app developed by the Ministry of Agriculture has been launched for the first time in the country. It is being run as a pilot project in Navsari district.
According to Agriculture Department officials, to use this app, farmers have to register through Aadhaar number and then fill the details of their farming land. After this they are given a QR code, by showing which they can buy fertilizer from fertilizer sellers and suppliers in their area. This will save time of farmers and increase agricultural productivity.
Developed to promote the use of digital technology in farming, this mobile app has made possible real-time management of availability, distribution and demand of fertilizer. If this digital platform, which makes fertilizer sale and distribution systematic and transparent, is successful in Navsari, it can be started in other districts of Gujarat also.
