Gujarat is becoming a strong center of startup and innovation, young startups are getting a new flight from I-Hub.

Ahmedabad, 26 December (IANS). Gujarat is fast becoming one of those states in the country where innovation and startup culture is gaining a strong base. Due to active government policies and youth-promoting approach, Gujarat is today emerging as a major center of youth entrepreneurship.

Established under the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) of the Government of Gujarat, i-Hub Gujarat has played a vital role in transforming new ideas into successful businesses.

e-Hub Gujarat was established in the year 2019 to effectively implement SSIP at the grassroots level. It serves as a single-window platform where students, innovators and startups get support in the entire journey from idea to market. E-Hub provides guidance, mentorship and institutional support at every stage from idea identification, testing, incubation and market access.

Hundreds of startups are currently being nurtured in the state-of-the-art e-Hub campus located in Ahmedabad. Here, startups are provided with incubation facilities, guidance from experienced experts and funding opportunities, helping young entrepreneurs overcome initial challenges and transform their ideas into sustainable businesses.

Gujarat’s innovation-centric thinking has also been recognized at the national level. Gujarat was honored for best performance in the Government of India’s ‘State Startup Ranking 2018’. This achievement reflects the success of policies like SSIP and the strong startup framework of the state. The e-Hub, functioning under the Education Department of the Government of Gujarat, is working as a strong bridge between students, educational institutions, industry and society.

Gujarat has consistently been among the top states in the Government of India’s startup rankings. The credit for this goes to SSIP, e-Hub Gujarat, sector based incubation centers and special incentive schemes for startups. Thousands of registered startups are active in the state in sectors like Fintech, Agritech, Healthtech, Manufacturing, Clean Energy and Deep Tech.

Cities like Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot have emerged as startup hubs. There are more than 100 incubation centres, innovation cells linked to universities, government seed funding and strong MSME and industrial clusters. World-class ports, better logistics connectivity, investor-friendly governance and an entrepreneurial culture related to trade and manufacturing are making Gujarat the state of choice for startups and innovators across the country.
