Gujarat: Rural women of Banaskantha get 'new wings' through Namo Drone Didi scheme

Banaskantha, 25 December (IANS). Women-centric welfare schemes of the Central Government are making rural women empowered and self-reliant. In this context, NaMo Drone Didi Scheme has emerged as a strong example of change at the grassroots level. In Banaskantha district of Gujarat, this scheme is taking women out of traditional boundaries and connecting them with technology-based livelihoods.

A living example of this is Asha Chaudhary, a resident of Talepura village in Deesa taluka, who has created a path for sustainable self-employment by taking advantage of training and opportunities.

The government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, believes that an empowered woman not only strengthens her life but also strengthens the family, society and nation. Under this thinking, many schemes have been started for the economic independence of women, of which Namo Drone Didi Scheme is the main one.

After completing the training under the scheme, Asha Chaudhary was provided a drone kit worth Rs 17 lakh by the Central Government. Equipped with modern technology and practical training, he started drone based agricultural services, which is a new and modern medium of employment in rural areas.

Today Asha is not only financially independent, but has also become a strong support for her family. Sharing her experience, she said that this scheme gave her not only skills but also confidence, which enabled her to see the future beyond traditional boundaries.

Other women of the village have also been inspired by her success and have started moving towards new possibilities.

The reach of government schemes is continuously increasing in the remote villages of Gujarat, due to which rural women are joining the mainstream of development. Stories like Asha Chaudhary’s demonstrate how targeted policy interventions can bring real change at the grassroots level.

With technology, training and financial support, women are laying the foundation of a self-reliant and developed India. The success of NaMo Drone Didi scheme in Banaskantha embodies the spirit of “Steady Leadership, Uninterrupted Development”, where empowered women are becoming the new force for inclusive growth.
