Whatsapp is now facing new competition in India. This is the new platform Arattai, which has developed by Zoho. This app was launched in 2021, but recently it has gained a lot of popularity due to the support of the Government of India, discussion on social media and being built in India. Its user base on Google Play Store and Apple App Store has increased by 100 times, showing that it can challenge WhatsApp.
Feature difference between Arattai and Whatsapp
Both WhatsApp and Arattai provide basic messaging facilities like text messages, photos and video sharing, voice notes and voice and video calls. However, Arattai has some features that make it different. Malti-device support: Arattai allows the same account to be used on a maximum of five devices including Android TV. Whatsapp currently does not support TV.
Stories and Channels: Arattai has features like WhatsApp status and channels, providing a mixture of messaging and social media.

The use of Arattai is free
Arattai is completely free. ZOHO has made it without advertisements and promises not to use user data for targeted advertisements. Unlike Meta, advertisements will not appear in it.
Arattai also has a group chat option like Whatsapp. Users can create groups of up to 1,000 members. Whatsapp limit is 1,024.
Security
In terms of safety, Whatsapp applies end-to-end encryption (E2E) on every message, call and file. Currently, Arattai applies it only to voice and video calls. Zoho text is working on encryption for messages and promised to expand it in future. However, Arattai data has a strong commitment to privacy. It does not sell user data to advertising or third party. In addition, all data centers are located in India, making it attractive to those who prefer local data security.

Arattai is available on both Android and iOS. It can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It can also be used on Windows, Macos, Linux and Android TV. Users can simultaneously sync their accounts on maximum five devices.
