New Delhi, October 18 (IANS). Industry leaders on Saturday praised PM Modi’s policies and India’s rapid development.

Karthikeya Hariyani, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Charge Zone, who arrived at the NDTV World Summit 2025, while talking to news agency IANS on the sidelines of the event, said that the policies adopted and initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote electric mobility in India are impressive.

“The PM e-Drive scheme was launched last year. It aims to promote electric vehicles. It is a subsidy support program for the electric mobility industry for the domestic market,” Hariyani said.

“In my view, electric mobility is the top priority of the Prime Minister and the government and they also have a mission-driven plan for it,” said the Charge Zone CEO.

He said that the Indian market has been at the peak of growth for many years as it has always been growing at high single-digit growth rates.

Deakin University CEO Ravneet Pahwa said that India is a shining star and very soon the country will become the third largest economy in the world.

“I think India is becoming developed and I have no doubt that we will achieve it,” Pahwa said.

He further said that it is important for India to think about cooperation with the rest of the world to achieve the goals of a developed India.

Neil Thompson, MIT’s FutureTech Research Director, said the Indian economy is growing and it is heartening to know that the country has low inflation and high growth, which is actually a recipe that can lift many people out of poverty and do great good in the world.

Meanwhile, Parag Khanna, founder and CEO of AlphaGeo, said that the indigenous approach that India is taking to AI is very important to be different from the Chinese approach or the American approach.

“A lot of development in India is open source, with open data available and transparency around how it is being developed, deployed and controlled,” Khanna said.

Furthermore, he further said that there is great hope that India can become a world leader not only in the development of AI models but also in its deployment in public interest.
