New Delhi, June 22 (IANS). Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Monday that today India is providing unique and unmatched economic opportunities to the world. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is establishing itself as a reliable global economic partner.
Addressing the ‘Republic Summit 2026’, Goyal said India’s growing role in global supply chains and trade policies that prioritize national interest have made India an attractive destination for businesses across the world.
“India is set to play an increasingly important role in global supply chains as companies around the world look for trustworthy and reliable partners,” he said.
Goyal said companies from across the world are increasingly attracted to India due to the strong economic base, stable policy environment and growth-oriented reforms implemented by the Modi government.
He said India’s economic progress has created unprecedented opportunities for investors, traders, exporters and industries.
The Union Minister said that all the trade agreements made by India in recent years have been done keeping in mind the national interests. These agreements have also strengthened trade relations between India and its global partners.
He said that these agreements aim to create more opportunities for Indian traders, exporters, industries and citizens, while also ensuring complete protection of India’s interests.
Referring to the government’s approach in international trade negotiations, Goyal said that the government led by Prime Minister Modi has always adopted the policy of ‘Nation First’.
He said that every trade agreement has been designed in such a way that it increases economic development and employment opportunities in the country.
Goyal said, “Modi government is fully committed to protecting the interests of farmers.”
He also reiterated the government’s commitment to protect the interests of farmers and said agricultural concerns remain a major consideration in India’s trade policies and negotiations.
The Union Minister said that India is gradually emerging as a major hub of the global supply chain. Also, India is likely to benefit greatly from the diversification of manufacturing and sourcing activities across the world.
He said that India will play a more important role in the field of global trade and investment in the coming years.
