New Delhi, October 25 (IANS). A latest report says that India is building an infrastructure that will power the world’s digital intelligence in the future. In this context, the construction of a huge $15 billion AI data center campus by Adani Group and Google Cloud outside the US is an important step.
An article in Newsweek said that when PM Narendra Modi said that India should lead the world in using AI responsibly and build an infrastructure to power it, many people found it a huge ambition. But, today the same vision is going to be fulfilled in reality.
Google says a new AI hub will be built in Visakhapatnam to accelerate India’s transformation. It will have powerful AI infrastructure, data center capacity, new large-scale energy sources, and a large fiber-optic network all in one location.
According to PM Modi, “Google AI Hub’s multi-faceted investment aligns with the vision of creating a developed India. It will become a powerful force in taking technology to all. It will also ensure ‘AI for all’. It will also provide citizens with the latest tools, boost the country’s digital economy and help India position itself as a global technology leader.” will help.”
In 2021, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani identified that data centers would create ‘infinite energy demand’, and identified clean energy as the primary bottleneck, Newsweek reported.
After this, in 2022, Adani Green Energy invested more than $ 70 billion in clean energy. Adani AI Labs launched in 2023. The acquisition of Cordz in 2024 laid the groundwork for a sovereign cloud and in 2025 this eventually transformed into Adani’s idea of an ‘Infrastructure of Intelligence’.
According to the report, on the other hand, India’s AI market is expected to grow from $1 billion in 2024 to $8 billion by 2030.
Additionally, the Google AI Hub in Visakhapatnam will include a dedicated data center campus that will add gigawatt-scale compute capacity to help meet the demand for digital services across India and the world.
