Jio, Vi or Airtel, which company's users are at the forefront in terms of data expenditure? You will be shocked to see the figures

The country’s leading telecom companies – Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea – have declared their results for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2025-26. These figures clearly show which company’s customers are using the most mobile data and which company has the strongest average revenue per customer (ARPU). Vi, the last company to announce results, said its subscriber base remained flat at 192.8 million. Furthermore, since February 2026, the company has once again seen an increase in the number of new customers. Now, the data usage and ARPU figures of the three companies give a real picture of the telecom market.

How much data did Airtel customers use?
According to the report, Airtel customers used an average of 31.4 GB mobile data every month during this quarter. This means that on an average, a customer is using around 1.05 GB of data every day. The company’s total network data traffic has reached 27,985 million GB. Airtel’s ARPU – or average revenue per subscriber – stood at ₹257, which is considered the highest in the industry. However, there was a slight decline compared to the previous quarter, when the figure was ₹259. Gopal Vittal, executive vice chairman of the company, said that FY26 was a very strong year for the company. During this period, Airtel crossed the 650 million customer mark and added millions of new smartphone and postpaid customers.

Jio customers are at the forefront in data usage

When it comes to highest data usage, Jio has left other companies behind. According to the company, on average each customer is using 42.3 GB of data per month – that is, about 1.41 GB of data is being used every day. Jio’s total network data volume has reached 66 billion GB, which is significantly higher than its competitors. The company gives its main credit for this to the rapid expansion of its 5G services. By March 2026, Jio’s 5G subscriber base had reached 268 million, and 5G now accounts for about 55 percent of the company’s total wireless traffic. Moreover, the ARPU of the company has increased to ₹214.

Vi subscribers are using the least data
A look at Vi’s data shows that the company’s 4G and 5G subscribers use an average of 20.2 GB of data every month. This means daily usage is around 673 MB – which is much less than both Jio and Airtel. The company’s total network data volume was recorded at 7.8 billion GB, covering all network technologies: 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. However, one good thing for the company was that its ARPU increased to ₹190, which shows a growth of 8.3 percent year-on-year. According to Vi, this growth is mainly due to the rapid migration of subscribers to its 4G and 5G networks. The company’s 4G/5G subscriber base has also increased compared to last year.

So, who is the real ‘Data King’?
According to the data released, the highest number of internet data users are from Reliance Jio. On the contrary, Bharti Airtel is at the first position in terms of highest ARPU. Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea is focusing on strengthening both its network infrastructure and its subscriber base.
