Chennai, May 7 (IANS). Zoho co-founder and chief scientist Sridhar Vembu on Thursday demanded imposition of President’s rule and fresh elections in Tamil Nadu, saying the current political situation in the state appears unstable.

Speaking on social media platform

He further wrote, “Whatever government is formed, it is likely to be unstable due to various pressures and pulls. Tamil Nadu deserves better than this.”

He further said that imposing President’s rule and then holding fresh elections, in which strict action would be taken against the practice of “cash for voting”, would be the best solution.

The Zoho co-founder also expressed confidence that actor Vijay-led Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) could win a massive majority if fresh elections are held.

“I think TVK will come back to power with a huge majority and if DMK-AIADMK want to stop it, they should fight the elections together,” he said.

Vembu further said that the BJP should contest the elections independently in Tamil Nadu, even if it does not get a single seat. He described it as a “new beginning” for the party in the state.

He said, “BJP should contest the elections alone, even if it does not get a single seat. It is time for a new beginning for the BJP in Tamil Nadu. Let the people decide again.”

TVK had emerged as a major political force in the state in the recently held assembly elections, although it missed the majority mark in the 234-member assembly by a narrow margin.
