Mumbai, June 23 (IANS). Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that ‘Maha AI’ – i.e. ‘Maharashtra Hub’ for Advanced Artificial Intelligence – has been developed to make the functioning of state government departments more efficient, secure and people-centric. This is the country’s first unique initiative based on Artificial Intelligence.
The Chief Minister said that this initiative will soon be implemented in various departments of the state. Through this, government work like correspondence, preparing notes, making reports, translation of government works, summary of documents and searching information in government knowledge base can be done more quickly and accurately.
CM Devendra Fadnavis was speaking at a meeting organized on ‘Maha AI’ platform at Vidhan Bhavan. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Disaster Management Minister Girish Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Lokesh Chandra, Additional Chief Secretary Aseem Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department Vikas Chandra Rastogi, Principal Secretary Dr. Shrikar Pardeshi, Principal Secretary Naveen Sona, Secretary of Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Department Virendra Singh, Director of MahaIT Bhuvaneshwari S, State Information and Communication Officer and Deputy Director General Sapna Kapoor were present.
CM Fadnavis said that ‘Maha AI’ will play an important role in making the administration more effective by incorporating modern technology in the state government system. The National Informatics Center has developed this system for Maharashtra and it is implemented on the infrastructure of Maharashtra State Data Center provided by the Department of Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. This will ensure sovereignty, confidentiality and security of government information.
All sensitive government information will remain under the control of the government, and the information will be stored and processed in the secure infrastructure of the state government. With the ‘Maha AI’ system, tasks like preparing government letters, emails and notes, summarizing, clarifying and translating documents, searching information related to government rules, laws, decisions and circulars and creating reports in common language can be done.
With the help of Artificial Intelligence, the facility of verification of beneficiaries will also be provided, so that the name of the same beneficiary does not appear again. This system allows choosing different AI models and uploading images and documents. It includes security features like user-wise secure login, end-to-end encryption and position-wise access control, so that the confidentiality of government documents and information is maintained.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said that in future, ‘Maha AI’ will be used as a uniform AI platform in all government departments. Also, by connecting it to different e-governance systems like e-Office, RTI, e-HRMS and ‘Aaple Sarkar’, features like drafting, translation, summary making, information gathering and verification of beneficiaries will be further improved.
Virendra Singh, Secretary, Department of Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence and Sapna Kapoor, State Information and Communication Officer and Deputy Director General of National Informatics Center gave a presentation on the ‘Maha AI’ platform.
