Mark Zuckerberg's big bet! By purchasing Moltbook, a platform was created where humans are not allowed to go.

Last month, a new kind of social media platform came into limelight. Its name is Moltbook, and its specialty is that it is only for AI agents. Humans can only view it, but cannot post on it. Now news is coming that Facebook and Instagram’s parent company Meta has bought it. Its employees will now work in Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL).

What is special about Moltbuk?

Octane AI’s Matt Schlicht launched the platform in January. He told that this is a product of Vibe Coding, and he did not do any coding to create it. All the work on this platform is done by AI agents. This means that the AI posts itself, and the AI does all the work, including commenting on it and building the community. It is worth noting that most of the AI agents on this platform run on OpenCloud, which is an open-source AI tool that allows creating personal AI assistants.

Why did Meta buy it?

Meta wants Moltbuk’s team to develop agentic AI for itself. That means AI tools that can work like humans. After this deal, Matt Schlicht and his partner Ben Parr will now work under MSL Chief Alexander Wang. According to reports, Meta’s deal with Moltbook will be completed on March 16. Existing customers of MoltBook will be able to use it for some time, but this may change in the future. Let us tell you that for some time now the competition among tech companies to develop agentic AI has intensified. OpenAI has also joined hands with Peter Steinberger, founder of OpenClaw.
