Washington. US President Donald Trump has signed the new order. Under this, now US companies will have to pay 1 million dollars per employee every year for H1B visa. In the US, 70 percent of the total H1B visas are available to Indians. 65 percent of these work in tech companies. Microsoft, who is now in the US top technology companies, has given the latest instructions to employees with H1B and H-4 visa after Trump’s latest order.
According to news agency Reuters, Microsoft has asked employees with H1B and H-4 visas to come to America in 24 hours. Trump’s new H1B visa fee rule will come into effect from 22 September 2025. After this, US companies will have to pay a fee of $ 1 lakh for every employee. Microsoft has asked employees with H1B visas that they will have to live in America in future also. It is believed that companies like Google, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram company Mata and Apple can also issue similar instructions for employees with H1B visas.
The US has been charging a fee of $ 4500 per employee for H1B visas so far. Apart from this, companies which wanted H1B visas quickly had to give around 1700 to 2200 dollars separately. Trump has now reduced the fee of H1B visa to 1 lakh dollars every year i.e. Indian currency 88 lakh rupees. In such a situation, the job of Indian tech companies, health care and schools working in schools can also face crisis. Howard Lutnik, Commerce Secretary in the Donald Trump government, says that by making H1B visa fees 1 lakh, US companies will give jobs to children passing from universities here. However, Americans will have to pay more salary than those who go to work in America. In such a situation, all the tech and other companies can shift their offices to India as well. In such a situation, the effect of increasing H1B visa fees will be detected only after some time.
