New Delhi. On the day of Dhanteras, big news related to India’s mobile phone industry has come. India has achieved the first position in smartphone exports to America by ending China’s dominance. This information was given by Union Railway and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Saturday. The Union Minister has said that India has exported more smartphones to America than its neighboring country (China). He called it a big achievement for India. Ashwini Vaishnav said that some of the biggest mobile phone manufacturing companies are doing about 20 percent manufacturing and assembly in India.

Apart from American company Apple, South Korea’s Samsung also manufactures and assembles mobile phones in India. The special thing is that China’s largest mobile manufacturing company Xiaomi also makes smartphones in India. Apart from this, Chinese company Vivo also makes mobile phones in India. Till now, most of the smartphones in Asia were exported to America from China, but foreign companies like Apple are increasing their work in India. Apple has exported 44 percent of phones made in India to America in 2025. Whereas, Apple sent only 25 percent of the phones made in China for sale in America.
Talking about the year 2014, there were only two units of mobile phone assembly in India. At the same time, due to PLI and Ease of Doing Business schemes of Modi government, there are now 330 units in the country. In which more than 33 crore smartphones are made. About 99.2 percent of smartphones sold in India no longer have to be imported. Most of the phones assembled in Indian factories are sold in the country. After China, India is second in the world in manufacturing and assembling smartphones.
