New Delhi, 4 October (IANS). According to the official information given by the Ministry of Steel on Saturday, India’s largest manganese ore producer Maile has registered the highest production so far in September this year. This indicates an increase of 3.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
The company’s exploratory core drilling has recorded a great increase, which has reached 5,314 meters with a strong growth of 46 percent. This performance reflects strong attention to the expansion of the resource base of the moyle.
The sales figure of government -owned company was 3.53 lakh tonnes in September, which was an increase of 18.6 percent.
Moyal has also recorded its best production of 4.42 lakh tonnes in the second quarter of the current financial year, showing an increase of 10.3 percent as compared to the same period last year.
The company also achieved its best exploratory core drilling of 21,035 meters in the second quarter, showing an increase of 4.1 percent as compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Moyal Chairman and Managing Director Ajit Kumar Saxena said, “The increase in major standards reflect the company’s commitment to strengthen the operational excellence and ensure long-term sustainability. The company is in a strong position to maintain the leadership in the manganese sector with a continuous emphasis on exploration in its operating mine.”
According to the information given on the official website of Moyal, the company is a mini-schedule-A public undertaking under the Ministry of Steel. The venture was founded on 22 June 1962 as Manganese and India Limited. However, in the financial year 2010-11, the company’s name was changed to Moyal Limited.
Earlier, the company continued its strong growth rate in August with the highest number of 1.45 lakh tonnes of production, which was 17 percent increase compared to this month last year.
The company also performed brilliantly with a sales of 1.13 lakh tonnes in August, which increased by 25.6 percent on an annual basis compared to the same month of the previous year.
