NASSCOM launches its UK Forum to strengthen India-UK technology and business ties

New Delhi, November 20 (IANS). NASSCOM on Thursday announced the launch of its UK Forum aimed at strengthening bilateral technology and trade partnerships between India and the United Kingdom.

The event was attended by senior government representatives, industry leaders and key stakeholders from the India-UK Technology Corridor.

Speaking at the launch, India’s High Commissioner to the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, emphasized that technology security and resilience is a vital part of a modern bilateral partnership.

“India’s technology and digital capabilities are rooted in a long-standing culture of innovation, which also enables it to respond to both domestic and global demands,” he said.

Rajesh Nambiar, President, NASSCOM, said, “The India-UK partnership ushers in a new decade of innovation, inclusion and impact. The next decade should be one of co-innovation, where India and the UK will jointly design and deploy solutions in AI, digital public infrastructure and new technologies.”

The vision of the NASSCOM UK Forum is to strengthen partnerships by promoting investment and innovation while creating high-value digital jobs. The objective of this forum is to create a platform for the industry that will work with the governments of both the countries to increase bilateral trade by keeping technology at the center.

The NASSCOM UK Forum, under the Technology Security Initiative (TSI), will play a catalytic role in taking forward AI collaboration between the two countries, especially in the public sector, where India’s experience in AI adoption and digital public infrastructure can help the UK deliver citizen services at scale.

The forum will also focus on AI readiness, workforce upskilling and enabling SME digital transformation. It will also promote responsible AI practices and shared innovation models, benefiting both countries.

The initiative brings together senior technology leaders from large Indian IT players such as HCL Technologies, Hexaware, Infosys, LTIMindtree, Mastek, Tech Mahindra, TCS and Wipro.
