Now AI will speak in villages also! How will the new chatbot change the lives of farmers, laborers and panchayats?

The government is taking a big step towards strengthening rural administration. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is soon launching a digital chatbot named PANCHAM, which is specially designed for Gram Panchayats. This chatbot will work through WhatsApp and will directly connect Panchayat representatives with government schemes, important data and latest updates. Its objective is to make the decision-making process at the ground level easier and more effective.

What is Pancham?
PANCHAM is a digital platform designed to address the gap of information at the Panchayat level. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has developed it so that Sarpanches and Panchayat officers do not have to depend on different sources for necessary information. Technology is rapidly reaching villages, and PANCHAM is part of this change, which will help in simplifying everyday Panchayat tasks.

Who will benefit most?
This initiative will benefit more than 30 lakh elected Panchayat representatives and employees across the country. Sarpanches, ward members and Panchayat employees will no longer have to depend on multiple sources for correct information related to government schemes and policies. For the first time, a digital tool is being introduced for Panchayats that connects them directly to government systems and decision-making bodies.

Direct connection via WhatsApp
It is very easy to use PANCHAM. Panchayat representatives will not need any special technical training. Those whose mobile numbers are linked to the e-Gram Swaraj portal can connect with the chatbot by simply scanning a QR code. After this, the chatbot will provide information about schemes, important guidance and answers to Panchayat related questions directly on WhatsApp.

Information available in 22 Indian languages
The biggest feature of this chatbot is that it supports 22 Indian languages. This means that Panchayat representatives from different states of the country can understand and use the information in their local language. This will eliminate language barriers to a great extent.

Feedbacks and problems will also reach the ministry directly
PANCHAM is not limited to just providing information. Through this platform, Panchayat officials can give their opinion, ask questions and report village related problems directly to the Ministry. This will strengthen input at the grassroots level and enable faster and better-informed decisions.

Real-time updates for better governance
This chatbot will allow the government to send necessary advice, important information and instant updates to Panchayat representatives. With this, information will spread faster even during emergencies, which will make governance in villages stronger and digitally empowered.
