WhatsApp has always been a completely free app, but now it has introduced a paid subscription model for the first time. The company has launched a new plan called “WhatsApp Plus” for Android and iOS users in India. The price of this new plan in India is ₹79 per month; However, users initially get the first month as a free trial. This means you can try it first and then decide whether you need it or not.

To understand WhatsApp Plus, it is important to keep in mind that no major structural changes have been made in it; Rather, it works like a customization pack. The core features of the app – like calling, status updates, messaging and end-to-end encryption – will remain the same and will remain free for all users. This subscription is designed for people who want to use WhatsApp in a different, more personalized way. Under this plan, users get the option to change the look of the app. It offers about 18 new color themes with different styles and color combinations.

Additionally, the app icon can also be changed, with 14 new designs available. This means WhatsApp doesn’t need to look the same all the time; You can customize it as per your choice. Apart from the looks, some small but useful features have also been added. For example, users get exclusive ringtones with new sticker packs that are not available to standard users. Another change is that you can pin up to 20 chats to your chat list – up from the previous limit.

Additional controls for chat management are also included. Users can customize their chat list to their liking, making the app easier to use and more personal. Getting a subscription is an easy process: you can find the WhatsApp Plus option in the “Subscriptions” section of WhatsApp settings and make a payment to activate it. Payments are processed through the Google Play Store, and you get a notification after activation.

However, it is worth noting that this feature has not yet reached all users. If you don’t see the WhatsApp Plus option under ‘Subscriptions’, the feature isn’t rolled out to your account yet; In such a situation, you will have to wait for a few days. Now the question arises whether you should take WhatsApp Plus or not? The answer completely depends on the user. If you use WhatsApp only for messaging and are happy with its current look and features, this plan may not necessarily be for you.
